Modernising radio measurement solutions

Issue:

NLO, the committee responsible for radio audience ratings in the Netherlands, wanted to test the capabilities of the MediaCell smartphone to understand how their methodology could be modernised to move away from recall based research to electronic measurement.

What we did:

We recruited 500 individual participants to join our radio measurement panel  and measured their weekly radio listening through the MediaCell app installed on a smartphone which they carried with them throughout the day.

Impact:

The pilot demonstrated that MediaCell performed effectively in delivery ratings for the radio market in the Netherlands and opened the opportunity for future modernisation of the measurement solution, which is currently being investigated by the Dutch market.
